| Abstract | O presente estudo refere-se a região de Caldas Novas - GO, que se caracteriza por possuir um dos mais expressivos mananciais termais em âmbito mundial e objetivou, através da utilização de produtos de sensoriamento remoto, investigar e definir o controle hidrogeológico local. A metodologia aplicada baseou-se na fotointerpretação de imagens orbitais TM-Landsat, consistindo principalmente em uma análise tectono-estrutural, sendo elaborados e analisados diversos mapas temáticos como os mapas de lineamentos estruturais, de traços de zonas de juntas e morfoestrutural. Desta forma, a área de estudo pode ser correlacionada a um modelo de sistema de cisalhamento sinistral. Os traços de zonas de juntas analisados estatisticamente, mostraram regiões de isofrequência, onde as mais altas freqüências indicavam permeabilidades elevadas para as rochas cristalinas. A associação das linhas de fraqueza definidas no modelo tectônico com as morfoestruturas proporcionaram, no mapa morfoestrutural, condições para indicar um controle hidrogeológico que, a partir de zonas de recarga situadas nas serranias a leste da área e no rio Corumbá, abasteceriam os aquíferos de Caldas Novas, lagoa de Pirapitinga e rio Quente. A análise integrada dos produtos gerados com dados de campo, de poços tubulares e de anomalias termais, confirmam o comportamento dos aquíferos que foram estudados na região. ABSTRACT: The present work is related to the Caldas Novas region, that is considered to be one of the most important thermic groundwater resources in the world. This work intends to clarify the local hydrogeological control, using remote sensing products. Photogeological techniques were applied to the tectonic-structural analysis by using satellite imagery. Several thematic maps, such as structural lineament, joint zone traces and morphostructural maps were constructed and analysed. The correlation of these maps demonstrates that the study area can be modelled as a leftward shear zone system. The statistical analysis of the joint zone traces produced a map of equal-frequency zones, where the highest frequency zones give secondary permeability in the hard rocks. The association of specific tectonic boundaries and morphostructural types, determined a hydrogeological control model. This model defined that the recharge areas of the Caldas Novas, lagoa de Pirapitinga and rio Quente groundwater resources are situated at the rio Corumbá and the hills of the east side of the area. An integrated analysis of the results of this study, the field works, wells and thermal anomalies data, confirms the conduct of the groundwater resource that was studied. | |||||||||
